The Dave Matthews Band was fined $15,000 by the University of Colorado at Boulder for playing 15 minutes past its 10:30 p.m curfew at its July 11 concert.
"They tend not to go over curfew that frequently, but they were just having a great time and wanted to keep playing a little longer," band publicist Ambrosia Healy said.
Lucky they didn't run any longer. According to their contract with CU, it would have cost them $10,000 a minute after 10:45 p.m.
JC Ancell, associate director of CU's University Memorial Center, said the fine will help pay for any overtime for hourly employees working the event.
