Live Nation Closes On Metropolis Deal

LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Live Nation announced that they have sealed a deal to acquire Metropolis Music, one of the UK's largest independent live events promotion companies.

The London-based company will continue to be known as Metropolis Music, with Robert Angus and Raye Cosbert remaining in place as chairman and managing director, respectively.

Several key employees will stay on as well, including Andy Robbins, Kiarn Eslami, Tony Dobson, who will continue to handle artist bookings; Sophie Pitchforth will continue in her role as executive booking coordinator, and Ronnie Lee production will stay on as production coordinator.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

News that Live Nation was in talks to acquire Metropolis emerged in November, following the exit of longtime Metropolis veterans Paul Hutton and Conal Dodds for the launch of Crosstown Concerts.

"The formation of Metropolis Music is a great venture for us, and another step in our commitment to promotions and world-class events in the U.K.," said Denis Desmond, chairman of Live Nation UK in a press statement announcing the deal.

“The team and I are excited for this new venture into Metropolis Music," added Angus. "We’ve been promoting events in the UK since 1985, and we look forward to providing the best for artists and fans across the UK, together as part of the Live Nation family.” – Staff Writers
