PERTH, Australia (CelebrityAccess) — Australian venue management company VenuesLive has announced that veteran facilities exec Mike McKenna has been named as the Chief Executive Officer at the new Perth Stadium and the surrounding Sports Precinct.
McKenna comes to VenuesLive after almost 20 years in senior executive roles at Cricket Australia and the Essendon Football Club, including playing a key role in developing the successful Big Bash League.
Prior to his roles at Cricket Australia, Mr McKenna was General Manager Commercial Operations at Essendon Football Club for seven years from 1998.
While still under construction, the Perth Arena is now more than 50% complete. When it opens, it will be a multi-purpose venue capable of hosting AFL, cricket, football, rugby union, rugby league and entertainment events, with a seating capacity of 60,000.
