GERMANY (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Twin Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals went off with a bang last weekend. Rock im Ring was held at the Nürburgring racetrack and Rock am Park, with an identical lineup was held in Nürnberg, Germany.
According to event organizers, the festivals drew a startling 150,000 fans over the course of the weekend. This was the first year that the event, which have been a going concern since 1985, sold out before the gates opened.
The weekend saw performances from headlining bands such as Linkin Park, Smashing Pumpkins, and Die Ärzte as well as Evanescence, Hinder, Kaiser Chiefs, Machine Head, Wolfmother, The White Stripes, Velvet Revolver, The Hives and more.
Promoters Marek and Andre Lieberberg are enthused about the success of their project and have already announced the dates for the 2008 edition of the festival as June 6-8, 2008. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
