Rose Bowl And Pasadena Weigh New Music Festival

PASADENA (CelebrityAccess) — Rose Bowl officials have announced that they are partnering with AEG Live to operate an annual music festival at Rose Bowl Stadium.

According to the Pasadena Star-News, The Rose Bowl Operating Company have entered into a non-binding agreement with AEG to start planning the two or three day music and arts festival, which would take place at the Rose Bowl, commencing in June, 2016.

“This is not supposed to be Coachella moving west,” Rose Bowl CEO and General Manager Darryl Dunn told the Star-News. “Coachella is an unbelievably successful event, I know talking to the folks at AEG they are very proud of that event and they want that event to happen in Coachella. They are not looking to have another event like that here.”

Dunn told the newspaper that the festival would be more like the New Orleans Jazz Festival – a multi-stage festival with food, arts and music. If the deal can be completed, the RBOC would seek a 10-year agreement with two five-year renewals for a 20-year contract with AEG for the event. – Staff Writers
