AUSTIN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Attendees at this year's SXSW will have more ways than ever to get the best experience from their visit.
Attendees at this year's conference will be able to sign up to get SMS messages about events sent directly to their mobile device. The notifications will be customizable to the type of badge an attendee has or non-badged attendees can enroll to get general SMS notices.
SXSW will be using a special version of Podcast Ready’s award-winning myPodder podcast management system. The system will enable attendees to easily organize all of their SXSW related podcasts for easy reference.
SXSW has set up a torrent network as well, showcasing a track from each of the 739 bands scheduled to perform at the convention.
SXSW.mobi will enable easy navigation to the events that you want to get to at the conference. In addition, participants will have access to an online registrant directory along with mp3s, video clips, podcasts, schedules and other digital media streamed to a mobile device.
This year will mark the 30th anniversary of the annual conference, which will take place in Austin from March 9-18. This year's event will feature performances by The Stooges, Interpol, Lily Allen, Bloc Party, and Cold War Kids, and speakers including David Byrne and Pete Townshend in addition to numerous other panels, films and other activities.
