The Dead Add Additional Fare The Well Shows In California

SANTA CLARA (CelebrityAccess) — The Grateful Dead’s Fare The Well reunion has been extended with two additional “Fare Thee Well” shows set for Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on June 27 and June 28.

The newly-added shows will take place ahead of the previously announced shows which are scheduled to take place at Chicago’s Soldier Field over the July 4th weekend. The shows will mark the band's 50th anniversary and are being advertised as the final live performances together for Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzman, the four remaining core members of the group.

The shows will also feature Phish's Trey Anastasio on guitar, Bruce Hornsby on piano, and Jeff Chimenti on keyboards.

Tickets for the Chicago shows sold out almost immediately, and tickets for the new shows will be sold via an lottery at Dead50.net.

Despite the success of the first round of shows, the band says they aren't planning to add any further dates. In a post on dead50.net, a spokesperson for the band wrote:

"We will not be adding any more Fare Thee Well shows. The three Chicago shows will still be our final stand. We decided to add these two Santa Clara shows to enable more of our fans to celebrate with us one more time. But this is it." – Staff Writers
