LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Eventim UK, a division of the German ticketing giant CTS Eventim, has signed a deal with SMG Europe over a long-term deal that will see Eventim's ticketing platform going live in five major SMG-managed venues in the UK.
The ticketing system is already up and running at Manchester Arena (Manchester), Metro Radio Arena (Newcastle), Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre (Newcastle) and The Whitley Bay Playhouse (North Tyneside). In addition, the ticketing system will be at Leeds Arena when it opens in September, 2013.
This marks the first tie up between Eventim and SMG in the UK. SMG has been using Eventim's ticketing services at German arena in Oberhausen.
"The five-year deal with Eventim brings a new focus to our ticketing services. The new platform allows us to respond quicker and more efficiently to the requirements of promoters and the general public. Eventim also has some exciting new ticketing initiatives in the pipeline," said SMG Europe's managing director John Sutherland.
