NÜRNBERG (CelebrityAccess) — Damon Albarn’s Gorillaz gave their fans a taste of what to expect from the group’s forthcoming studio album “The Now Now” when they performed four new singles from the release at the Rock im Park festival in Nürnberg, Germany on Friday.
Videos captured by fans of the set include Albarn and company performing “Tranz,” “Magic City,” “Souk Eye” and “Sorcererz,” from the new album, as well as the previously teased “Humility” and “Lake Zurich.”
“Humility” had debuted the previous day on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio program the previous day and was announced alongside “Zurich” which came with a video featuring Jack Black.
“The Now Now” is the virtual band’s 6th studio album and is slated for release at the end of the month via Parlophone and Warner Bros. Records. Albarn has said in interviews that the album was produced quickly, and with fewer collaborators than previous Gorillaz material in order for the band to have some new stuff to play at live shows and festivals.
Speaking of live shows, Gorillaz also announced a short tour of North America ahead of their headlining appearance at the Gorillaz-curated Demon Dayz Festival in Los Angeles on Oct. 10th.
The 7-date arena run kicks off October 10th at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto and will feature support from Little Dragon and The Internet.
