VANCOUVER, B.C. (CelebrityAccess) — The Vancouver Mural Festival announced plans to expand their musical offerings this year with a bigger lineup with some help from Live Nation.
According to the Vancouver Sun, the city’s park board voted to approve plans for music at the free, week-long, family-friendly festival, which takes place starting on August 6th. Musical entertainment has been added for Saturday, Aug. 11 at Jonathan Rogers Park.
According to the Sun, the music is being produced in collaboration with Live Nation Canada, which maintains an office in Vancouver. As of yet, no music acts have been announced, but the application stipulated that both local and internationally recognized artists would perform at the event.
The festival had previously featured music, and while popular, had been a modest, organizers said in the application that the addition of the Live Nation Canada team would help the festival expand.
The event will run from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 11, with capacity for 5,500 fans. Tickets will be in the $25 to $30 range the application said, per the Sun.
The park board also approved the sale of alcohol at the festival this year, the Sun reported.
