SOMERSET, UK (CelebrityAccess) – Paul McCartney will headline Glastonbury’s 50th-anniversary event in 2020 the festival revealed today (Nov. 18).

The former Beatle will perform on the festival’s Pyramid Stage on Saturday, June 27.

Earlier on Monday, McCartney teased the announcement with a cryptic Tweet containing a photo of Philip Glass, Emma Stone and Chuck Berry.

Glastonbury co-organizer Emily Eavis later confirmed the news in an Instagram post saying: “IT’S REAL!! So excited… Having @paulmccartney coming back to headline the Pyramid next year is an absolute dream come true. There really was no one that we wanted more for the 50th anniversary.”

McCartney, who last played the Somerset event in 2004, joins an impressive list of artists who have also headlined the iconic festival more than once including: Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Van Morrison, Muse, Elvis Costello, Oasis, Pulp, the Cure, Radiohead, REM and the Who.
