Alice Cooper's Thriving Second Career

Ghoulmeister Alice Cooper takes his latest tour out on the road Sept. 29-Nov. 10 in support of his upcoming release, Dragontown, which ships Oct. 9. He'll be playing in a variety of venues – theatres, mid-size sheds, casinos and a couple of larger ballrooms, and will be picking up local and regional acts. Cooper will not play any fairs or amusement parks this time.

But in between tours, Cooper has had a thriving second career – commercials.

Cooper recently completed commericals for Residence Inn by Marriott and CompUSA, both of which will start running in the fall. A golf enthusiast, Cooper is on golf clubs manufacturer Callaway's "pro staff," appearing in commercials , attends trade shows and plays in celebrity tournaments.

Before heading out on tour, Cooper will be in Atlanta Sept. 1 receive the Living Legend Award at the sci-fi/ fantasy fan convention, "Dragon*Con," becoming the first non-author to receive the honor. Previous recipients include Harlan Ellison and Ray Bradbury.
