SOLANA BEACH, CA (CelebrityAccess) – Belly Up Entertainment has signed a long-term exclusive agreement with the recently renovated Music Box in San Diego, effective January 1st. Belly Up will be the exclusive promoter for the venue and will consult on marketing and operations, the company said.
“Music Box is an amazing room with a top-notch staff and a great audience experience,” says Chris Goldsmith, president of Belly Up Entertainment. “Every time we go into the room we’re impressed with the vibe in every way. It’s the best venue of its size for concerts and dance nights downtown and we think it has enormous potential.”
According to Goldsmith, the company's plan for Music Box is to build on its already-existing mix of dance music, hip-hop, Latin, R&B, and rock.
“Each venue will continue to have its own distinctive feel. The Belly Up is a classic roadhouse by the beach, and Music Box is a classic downtown experience. There will be some overlap, but the idea is to provide two unique options for live music lovers in San Diego County.”
The 700-capacity music room re-opened in late 2015, after quietly shuttering at the end of 2011, reportedly after losing their lease. At the time, the venue was promoted by AEG's Goldenvoice. – Staff Writers
