Clear Channel Radio To Sponsor HOB Summer Concerts In Denver

Despite his constant battling with Clear Channel Entertainment, Barry Fey, head of House of Blues Concerts in Denver, after weeks of negotiation, inked a deal with Clear Channel Radio in Denver to promote his upcoming summer concert season.

"I'm not at war with the broadcasters. It's the concert company," Fey told the Rocky Mountain News. "Once you get a schedule like we have, you gotta sell tickets. And the best way to sell the tickets is Clear Channel radio."

KISS-FM, KBCO, KBPI and KTCL will be the sponsors/presenters for about 37 shows this summer.

"The reason I did it was I thought it was the best for the artists and the shows," Fey said. "That's my responsibility: to sell the tickets. This is one thing that's a lot more important than Barry Fey. It's the Summer of Stars. It's something very special, and you have to treat it as such. I went up there prepared for, at the worst, 'Barry, get the hell out of our offices' to the best being 'Barry, let's present the Summer of Stars.' And that's what we got."
