David Goldberg Named To Newly Created TM Post

David Goldberg has been appointed to the newly created position of Ticketmaster Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development. Goldberg will be based in TM’s West Hollywood, CA corporate headquarters, where he will oversee Ticketmaster's business development, strategic partnerships, growth strategies, mergers and acquisitions, and public relations, reporting to Ticketmaster president and CEO John Pleasants.

"Recognizing the need to change and adapt to a constantly evolving business climate, we created this position to enhance our efforts to remain at the cutting edge of the ticketing industry," said Pleasants. "David brings tremendous knowledge of our company fused with a proven track record for building and implementing solid business strategies in both the music and sports industries."

"Ticketmaster's business, like so many others affected by technology, is constantly faced by new challenges and opportunities," said Goldberg. "A former employee, client and competitor, I have the proper perspective to recognize which avenues will be driving the future of our company."

Goldberg returns to Ticketmaster from Sportvision, a leading interactive sports marketing and technology company, where he served as executive vice president of corporate development.

Goldberg was TM’s Midwest marketing director 1994-1996. During this time he handled marketing activities and client acquisition and retention in a 20 state region-accounting for more then 30% of Ticketmaster's sales.

Prior to joining Sportvision, Goldberg was co-founder and executive vice president of Tunes.com, operator of Rollingstone.com, and was instrumental in the growth of the company from a three-man operation to an eventual sale of more then $140 million.
In addition to his Ticketmaster tenure, Goldberg has held various positions, including vice president of business development for concert promoter JAM Productions.
