INDIO, CO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The city council in Indio, home to the popular Coachella Festival will make a decision about whether there is a need to start planning for enhanced security resources for the upcoming desert festival.
According to a report in The Desert Sun, the city could start soliciting bids for contracts related to security and event support infrastructure. Areas under consideration include event security (two officers per thousand patrons) sanitation facilities and additional food vendors.
Indio is already sitting pretty with Coachella in their neighborhood. Although their estimates for the costs incurred by the city for the event run at 200,000 per day, they are collecting 1,000,000 from event organizers for the three day event, leaving them with a tidy profit of 400,000. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
