Live Nation Planning To Launch Electronic Music Division

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Live Nation is reportedly launching a new division to focus on the burgeoning electronic music scene, following the success of events such as the Ultra Music Festival in Miami and the Electric Daisy events around the U.S.

According to Digital Music News, Electronic Nation, as the new division is known internally, is still in the planning stages, but the expansion could be announced as early as this month.

The source did not disclose who might be under consideration to lead the new division, or where the division might be based out of.

Electronic music, after enjoying a brief spate of popularity in the late 1990s, has remained largely an underground phenomenon in the U.S., until recent years when events such as the Electric Daisy Festivals have been doing huge numbers. However, these events are not without controversy. The Electric Daisy festival in Los Angeles last year drew criticism after one girl died from an overdose and more than 200 attendees were hospitalized.

Following the incident, and the public outcry which followed over using a publically owned venue for electronic music events, Electric Daisy successfully relocated their Los Angeles event to Las Vegas this year. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
