Matt & Kim Cancel Upcoming Shows Following On-Stage Injury

BROOKLYN, NY (CelebrityAccess) — Brooklyn-based indie electronic duo Matt & Kim have pulled out of all of their upcoming tour dates for the foreseeable future after Kim Schifino injured herself in an on-stage accident at a festival in Mexico.

A video of the incident recorded at Festival Vaivén in Morelos, Mexico, shows Schifino jumping over a small riser and landing on a previously unseen stage fan. In the awkward landing, she tore the anterior cruciate ligament, an injured that the band estimate will take nine months to recover from.

Affected dates include:

April 7th – Jacksonville, FL – University of North Florida
April 3rd – Amherst, MA – University of Massachusetts
April 28th – Kingston, RI – University of Rhode Island
April 29th – Carlisle, PA – Dickinson College

After the incident, the duo released a pair of "What Happened to Kim" video blogs about the day leading up to the accident and the subsequent aftermath, including an interesting behind-the-scenes view of a Mexican music festival from an artist's perspective. – Staff Writers
