Peter Stack Tapped To Lead BMG's Catalog Records

LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — BMG has appointed Peter Stack as Executive Vice President Global Catalog Recordings as the company looks to expand their catalog recordings operation. Stack will be based out of BMG's London offices.

Reporting to CEO Hartwig Masuch, Stack will be responsible for marketing and exploitation of BMG's current catalog as well as looking for further catalogue acquisitions and licences.

The move comes just seven months after BMG acquired the company Stack founded, Union Square Music, a specialist in catalogue marketing and reissues. Last week BMG announced it had acquired the legendary Salsoul Records and West End Records labels through its purchase of Verse Music Group.

Peter Stack first rose to prominence in the catalogue business in the Nineties when he built and ran Music Collection International, which later became Demon Music Group following the sale of its parent company the VCI Group to Kingfisher.

In 1999 he launched Union Square Music which built a distinctive reputation for quality by working in close collaboration with artists – including Madness, The Undertones, Procol Harum, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Nazareth and Slade – to ensure their work was presented how they intended. – Staff Writers
