Police Disperse Large, Unruly Crowd At Knitting Factory


SPOKANE, WA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Spokane Police responding to early morning calls of shots fired in downtown Spokane claim they were forced to use pepper spray to disperse a large crowd unruly people outside of the Knitting Factory on Jan 16th.

According to a statement released by the Spokane Police Department, approximately 20 responding officers discovered an unruly crowd estimated at more than 100 people outside of the club. According to police, there were clear indications of intoxicated individuals who were refusing to cooperate and there was a fear of possible altercations.

Officers made many attempts to disperse the crowd and were forced to utilize a small amount of pepper spray to control the situation. The pepper spray canisters that were used contained a one second burst of pepper spray and worked successfully to diffuse the situation with no injuries.

No arrests were made and officers found no evidence of any guns having been fired. The Knitting Factory had been hosting their annual "Black Party" event, featuring DJ K Phi, several sports celebrities and MC'd by by R Kelly. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
