Sir Elton's Snark Rolls Right Off Madonna's Toned Arms

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Well, Madonna may have won the Golden Globe, but who will win the war?

During Sunday evening's red carpet at the Golden Globes, Elton John told Carson Daly that Madonna's song "Masterpiece" from the film "W.E." "doesn't have a f***ing chance."

When Carson told Madonna of Elton's comment she replied with, "Damn him…those are fighting words…Well, may the best man win."

Madonna took home the statue for Best Original Song, beating out Elton John's "Hello Hello" from Gnomeo & Juliet.

But the battle had only begun.

Elton John's longtime partner, David Furnish, then took to his Facebook page to write: "Madonna. Best song???? F–k off!!! Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit,” according to Business Insider.

Furnish added that Madonna's acceptance speech “was embarrassing in it’s [sic] narcissism…her critisism [sic] of Lady Gaga shows how desperate she really is.”

But it looks like the Material Girl hasn't been too effected after the fact stating, "He’s known to get mad at me, but I adore him… so he’ll win another award, and I don’t feel bad.”
