BERLIN (CelebrityAccess) — The Smashing Pumpkins have signed a worldwide exclusive Artist Services Deal with BMG Chrysalis US over the release of the band's forthcoming two albums: Monuments To An Elegy and Day For Night. The first single is expected at the end of 2014, and the albums are slated for release in 2015.
The group's new albums will be released jointly through BMG Artist Services and the band’s own Martha’s Music label. Under the BMG Artist Services model, artists retain ownership of their recordings, have full oversight of budgets and control of marketing – and receive the majority of the proceeds.
Originally formed in 1988, the Pumpkins have released several platinum-awarded albums, including Gish (1991), Siamese Dream (1993), the nine-times platinum Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness (1995) and Adore (1998). After a hiatus of several years, the Pumpkins released their well-received sixth album Zeitgeist in 2007, followed by several online releases and their latest studio album Oceania in 2012, which entered the US Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart at Number Four and made it to #1 on the US Independent Albums Chart. – Staff Writers
