Rhode Island Welcomes New Nightclub

PAWTUCKET, RI (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Rich Lupo of Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, has announced plans to open The Met, Rhode Island's newest nightclub.

The Met will open as a 600 capacity nightclub located in Hope Artiste Village, 1005 Main Street, Pawtucket, RI.

The club will be a versatile music room booking rock, folk, punk, and blues among other genres.

Longtime booking agent Jack Reich comments, "The Met is the mid-sized room Rhode Island has been missing for some time," according to the press release.

The club will serve food and offer free parking.

The opening line-up includes shows by a wide variety of national touring groups including guitarist Joe Louis Walker, whose new CD recently won "Best Blues Album of the Year" at the Blues Music Awards.

Other guests include Jenny Lewis, Dan Hicks & The Hot Licks, and Jenny and Johnny, featuring Rilo Kiley.

The Met will also feature local and regional artists including a special two night reunion show with  Pawtucket's own The Wild Turkey Band and Hometown Rockers, who have not performed since the 80s.
