LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Singer Rick Astley will perform in the US for the first time since 1989 as he works to promote his latest album "50."
The 80s pop star will play the Box in New York City and the Troubadour in Los Angeles on August 10 and 11, respectively.
Astley is best known for his 1987 single ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ and 1988 ‘Together Forever’, and more recently for 'rickrolling' — the insidious practice of tricking hapless Internet users into clicking on links that take them unexpectedly to videos of Astley's 'Never Gonna Give You Up.'
His latest album, due on BMG on Oct. 7th will be his first US release since 1993. The album, released in the UK on June 10, debuted at Number One on the UK Charts and achieved Silver status, having sold over 60,000 units, in just three weeks’ time, BMG said. – Staff Writers
