Roy Thomson Hall Goes Dark For Renovations

Toronto's 2,800-seat Roy Thomson Hall is going dark for five months
as it undergoes acoustic improvements and renovations to its lobby. It is
expected to reopen 11 August.

Among the renovations are to replace carpets with sound-reflective wood,
installation of maple wood bulkheads in the upper chamber of the auditorium,
construction of a large two-piece acoustic canopy near the stage that can be
raised and lowered and do away with continental seating in the auditorium's
main floor.
