Roskilde Named Safest Rock Festival

Roskilde Festival has been named the world's safest and best run rock festival,
according to The Rock Concert Safety Survey (RCSS) by Chicago-based Crowd
Management Strategies.

"Other festivals also do a good job, and safety and care involves many aspects,"
states Roskilde Festival's Head of Safety, Henrik Bondo Nielsen, "but it is registered
with satisfaction that Paul Wertheimer from Crowd Management Strategies
recognises Roskilde's efforts concerning safety and crowd management."

With the previously announced resignation of festival founder Leif Skov (CelebrityAccess, March 11), the festival's
management team continues with Henrik Rasmussen, Nielsen and Steen Jørgensen;
Rikke Øxner heads the booking department; Esben Danielsen is the festival's official
spokesperson; and Rasmussen, who with Skov, made up the board of directors of
the Roskilde Charity Society, will now continue on his own.
