SIRIUS, the only satellite radio service delivering uncompromised coast-to-coast music and entertainment for the car and home, today plans to broadcast daily live music performances to listeners nationwide. Debuting on February 3, SIRIUS Sessions will feature performances recorded live in SIRIUS' world-class national broadcast studios in New York City. The hour-long, commercial-free feature will be broadcast weekdays on SIRIUS Sessions, stream #100, from 5 to 6 pm ET.
Listeners will be able to tune into Sessions from artists in every genre, ranging from rock to hip-hop, metal to country, alternative rock to jam bands. From up-and-coming unsigned bands, to the top stars in music past and present, Sessions will feature uncut, uninterrupted live performances exclusively for SIRIUS subscribers coast to coast.
Live performances at Sirius have already included artists as diverse as Shaggy, Pam Tillis, Susan Tedeschi, Joan Osborne, BBmak, Marianne Faithfull, Lisa Loeb, The Nappy Roots, Jesse Colin Young, Ash, Feel, Todd Thibaud, and Campfire Girls.
In addition to new live performances soon to be heard on SIRIUS Sessions, SIRIUS broadcasts a specialty showcase of music genres now heard on The Galaxy #100. Listeners are treated to musical territory rarely or never available anywhere else. Recent programming has included everything from cocktail jazz and swing to Americana, holiday Music, and Bluesiana (Cajun and Zydeco music).
