Trey Anastasio Donates Guitar Strings

VERMONT (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Trey Anastasio, former Phish frontman, has announced that he is donating guitar strings from each of his December tourdates. After each performance, the strings will be packaged and shipped to Relix Magazine, where they will be fashioned into bracelets and auctioned off on eBay.

The proceeds from the auctioned bracelets will be donated to the Seven Below Arts Initiative, a charity founded to try to take up some of the slack in decreased funding for creative arts. He is also donating a portion of the proceeds from his new album "Bar 17" to support the fund.

Through partnerships with artists and other nonprofits, the Initiative will offer residency programs at The Barn, a renovated, 200-year-old property nestled in the Vermont hills that previously served as a recording studio and rehearsal space for Trey, Phish, and other musicians. An outreach component will feature educational opportunities for students of all ages.
