BRIDGEPORT, CT (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — After six years of holding the festival in upstate New York, the Gathering of the Vibes may return to Bridgeport, Connecticut’s Seaside Park after the Board of Park Commissioners gave tentative approval for the return of the weekend concert.
The board’s unanimous approval allows Terrapin Presents to proceed with ironing out bonding and security for the event, proposed for August 9-12, 2007 in the waterfront park.
“I’m thrilled. I really am,” Kenneth Hays, Terrapin Presents’ president and promoter of the show, told the Connecticut Post. “Seaside Park is absolutely spectacular.”
The promoter last staged a Vibes concert at the park in 2000, but maintenance projects in Bridgeport kept the show out for the next three years. Hays then continued holding the festival in New York.
“It’s been a great ride, but I want to come home,” Hays said of his desire to stage the show in Seaside Park again. It is expected that he will get a three year contract with the city for the festival. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
