Krezwick Resigns From The Garden

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — TD Banknorth Garden President and CEO Richard Krezwick abruptly resigned from his position after almost 10 years with the Boston arena, according to a press release.

John Wentzell, senior VP and general manager of the facility, will assume full operational responsibilities effective immediately, despite the fact that Krezwick will stay on staff until the beginning of next year to help in the transition. Wentzell will hold the position temporarily, until a permanent replacement is hired.

Krezwick was a strong supporter of bringing the Democratic National Convention to the facility in 2004, then called the FleetCenter. He was also instrumental in securing a lucrative naming rights deal with current owner Delaware North Companies.

“Over the last several years, Rich has helped shape the world-class reputation of the arena and has been an active force in the community,” Chuck Moran, president and COO of Delaware North Companies, said in the statement. “He has served the company with a high degree of passion, innovation and creativity. His leadership has helped the arena earn its status as one of the top three concert and sports venues in North America. He will be missed.” –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
