LOS ANGELES (VIP-News) — Neil Diamond is officially off the market after tying the knot with Katie McNeil in a private ceremony on April 21st in Los Angeles.
The legendary crooner announced the news via Twitter. "Katie and I got married last night, we wish you all could've been there. It was magical! Love, Neil," the tweet read. Diamond also unveiled news of the September engagement via the same social media platform.
This is the third marriage for Diamond, 71, and the first for McNeil, 42, according to CBS News. The pair met in 2009, during the production of the documentary, "Neil Diamond: Hot August Night/NYC."
Diamond is a little more than a month away from the June 1 kick-off of his impending North American trek, which begins with a performance in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Since last check, more California dates have been added to the run, which now includes five shows at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre.
The recently-inducted Rock and Roll Hall of Famer played seven sold-out nights at the Greek in the summer of 1971, and the following August he sold out 10 shows at the venue. The 1972 run spawned the double-live album "Hot August Night," which spent 29 weeks at No. 1 on the album chart. (Diamond also recorded a second live album, 1977's "Love at the Greek," at the same venue.)
The 30-city outing pushes through a Sept. 1 appearance in Las Vegas, NV. Tickets for the entire excursion are on sale now via Ticketmaster.
