ZURICH, Switzerland (CelebrityAccess) — Live Nation's ticketing division Ticketmaster has expanded its European operations into Switzerland with the opening of an office in Zurich.
The company's Swiss expansion brings Ticketmaster's international footprint up to 20 countries, including Germany, Austria and Qatar.
Despite Ticketmaster's expansion into the market, local ticketing companies such as Tamedia's Star Ticket and Ticket Corner are still confident that they can be competitive.
"We are one of the leading ticket marketer in Switzerland and have long-standing relationships with many operators," Tamedia Group spokesman Simon Marquard told Swiss news site 20 Minute.
One small wrinkle for Ticketmaster's Swiss expansion is that Tamedia currently owns the internet domain www.ticketmaster.ch. – Staff Writers
