SUNRISE, FL (CelebrityAccess) — While the Dead & Company were in town to perform at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida on Monday (Feb. 26) the members of the band Dead & Company invited students and teachers Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School to the concert for a night of music.
After the show, the assembled students and teachers were also invited backstage for an opportunity to hang out with the band.
Sunrise is just 20 minutes south of Parkland Florida, where 17 students and teachers were killed and 14 others hospitalized two weeks ago in a mass shooting incident.
Members of the band wore #MSDStrong t-shirts during the show and donated to a fund established to help the school to attempt to return to normality after the horrific attack.
“What an incredibly special night with some of the bravest young people I have ever met. These young heroes wear T-shirts, not capes. Thank you to all the students at MSD High School. It was so amazing to see you smiling and dancing. Your courage is inspiring,” said Oteil Burbridge of the experience.
