NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) Rapper Tekashi69 was hospitalized in Brooklyn after a carjacking, kidnapping and pistol whipping. That appears to be fact but how it all went down is under conjecture.
There appears to be two versions of the story: one that the rapper’s sources told TMZ and one the rapper told the police. Guess which one looks cooler than the other.
TMZ was originally told that Tekashi69 was kidnapped, pistol whipped and robbed this morning around 4 a.m. after wrapping a music video driving home when three hooded gunmen got out another car and pistol-whipped him unconscious, then threw him in the backseat of their car.
They told him they wanted jewelry and money or they would kill him, then pulled up to Tekashi’s house, where the two men went inside and took $750,000 in jewelry and between $15,000 and $20,000 in cash. Tekashi’s baby mama and daughter were inside but were not hurt.
Then, on the getaway, Tekashi opened the back door, rolled out, and ran, with one of the gunmen following him until he got scared he might be ID’d. The rapper then asked a stranger in another car to take him out of the scene, which he did. The stranger called 911 then dropped Tekashi off at an intersection, where an ambulance picked him up.
That’s the story originally told to TMZ. The story he apparently told the police was very similar but with some key differences.
In that version, Tekashi was a passenger in a car when they stole the driver’s iPhone and Tekashi was pulled out of the seat and shoved into the other car. They then drove to Tekashi’s house where he called somebody inside – presumably his baby mama – and told that person to come down with his jewelry, and she did. He told the police he then escaped and found his way to the hospital. After that, Tekashi became uncooperative.
Police say they do not know how the rapper was injured.
