BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (CelebrityAccess) — Prosecutors in Argentina announced that three people have been charged in connection with the death or former One Direction star Liam Payne in Buenos Aires in October.
Payne, who is 31,died after apparently falling from the balcony of the Casa Sur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16th.
On Thursday, prosecutors announced criminal charges against three individuals in connection with the incident, including an unnamed person who “accompanied the artist on a daily basis during his stay in the city of Buenos Aires” and was charged with the crime of abandonment of a person followed by death.
A second defendant was a hotel employee who charged for allegedly providing cocaine to Payne in two occasions during his stay at the hotel. The third individual was also accused of supplying Payne with drugs two different times on October 14.
Both individuals were charged with the crime of supplying narcotics, two acts each, according to a statement from Argentinian prosecuturs.
Additionally, the statement said that toxicology tests conducted on Payne revealed traces of polydrug use of alcohol, cocaine and a prescription antidepressant. His cause of death was attributed to “multiple trauma” and “internal and external hemorrhage,” the result of the fall the musician suffered from the balcony of the third-floor room of the hotel in the Palermo neighborhood where he was staying.
