$55 Million Arena Set For Arkansas

ROGERS, AR (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Investors are reported set to build a new $55 million sports and entertainment arena in Rogers, Arkansas, after the group deemed the original site at nearby Bentonville illogical because of poor roadways nearby.

An investment group led by Chris Talley, will build the 9,000-seat Northwest Arkansas Sports and Entertainment Arena at Interstate 540 and Pleasant Grove Road in Rogers, 30 acres south of a major Wal-Mart Supercenter.

Talley said he wants construction to begin in December and plans to complete the building by September 15, 2008.

“I’ve always had a vision to bring a world-class sports entertainment venue to Northwest Arkansas,” Talley told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. “We think this exit is highly visible and makes it more attainable for people to visit from the north, south, east and west.”

The project will include 40 luxury suites, a team training center and a small amphitheater and lake south of the arena to enhance the tailgating area. Talley is also in talks with the East Coast Hockey League to bring a minor league team to the market. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
