LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Canadian teen pop sensation Justin Bieber's tour-themed movie "Never Say Never" became the number one concert movie in U.S. history after surpassing the box office grosses of Michael Jackson's "This is It", earning overall $72.2 million domestically, to date to Jackson's paltry $71.1 million.
"Never Say Never" still going strong after six weeks in the theatres, bolstered when Paramount reissued a revised cut of the film.
Jackson, however, still holds on to his title as the king of pop. According to the Toronto Sun, "This is It" has grossed more than $189 million overseas for a grand total of $261.2 million while Justin's only managed to sell $10.8 million in tickets overseas.
Producers at Paramount said they expect Bieber's film to at least double its international grosses and noted that the film had a strong showing in Latin America. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
