ISTANBUL, Turkey (CelebrityAccess) — Turkey's One Love Festival, which had been rescheduled in July following a coup attempt by the Turkish military, appears to have now been officially canceled.
A statement posted on the festival organizer pozitif's website said: "One Love Festival is canceled due to availability problems on the schedules of artists and groups. You can return your One Love Festival tickets from Biletix box offices and from biletix.com website. Continue to follow our website to learn more about next year."
Originally slated to take place in Istanbul on July 17th, the event was sidelined by three days of violence as elements of the Turkish military attempted to seize the country in an apparent coup d'é·tat. At the time, organizers optimistically announced that the event would be pushed back, but political crackdowns and international tension between Turkey and Europe made that eventuality appear increasingly unlikely.
The festival featured a lineup that included Two Door Cinema Club, Django Django, Balthazar, Arthur Beatrice, HVOB, Klangkarussell, and others. – Staff Writers
