SoundExchange's Influencers Series Headed To Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess) — SoundExchange announced that they are bringing their SoundExchange Influencers Series to Nashville's Bluebird Café on August 31st and this time, it will be something of a family affair.

The fifth installment of The SoundExchange Influencers Series will include Marcus Hummon and his son Levi, with Paul Overstreet and his daughter, Summer. The previous series took place earlier this year at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, featuring featuring Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple and Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains.

The series pairs an established and influential musician with a developing artist and addresses a range of relevant issues for contemporary performers, including fair pay and recognition for all sound recordings across all platforms.

Marcus Hummon is a successful singer-songwriter and producer whose credits include writing Rascal Flatts' GRAMMY Award-winning "Bless the Broken Road," The Dixie Chicks' "Cowboy Take Me Away" and Tim McGraw's "One of Those Days." Levi Hummon is a developing country singer who released his first EP in April 2016 and has been named one of Rolling Stone's "Country Artists You Need to Know."

Paul Overstreet has had over 30 top 10 hit singles on the Billboard country charts, including several No. 1 hits, as both a writer and artist. He also has received two GRAMMY Awards, and was inducted into the NSAI Songwriters Hall Of Fame. Overstreet also received several Million-Air certificates, with his catalog amassing 52 million performances. Paul will also be honored with the Poets and Prophets ceremony on October 8, 2016, in recognition of his legendary career. Summer Overstreet, Paul Overstreet's eldest daughter, is an up and coming singer-songwriter based in Nashville who performed at the Bluebird Café this past May, and has had songs on MTV and on ABC's Nashville. – Staff Writers
