NEW YORK, NY (CelebrityAccess) – ABC announced Thursday (June 22) that it has greenlit a spinoff of Roseanne, which will not feature Roseanne Barr.
The move comes after the network’s recent reboot of the hugely successful 1990s sitcom was abruptly canceled last month following a racist joke made by Barr via Twitter about former Obama administrative official Valerie Jarrett.
Never-the-less, it now appears that ABC has given a straight-to-series order to The Conners, which will see John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson and Michael Fishman once again reprising their roles as members of the much-beloved Connors family.
The series is scheduled to premiere this fall and will air Tuesday evenings at 8 p.m.
