House Of Blues To Open In Seattle 2007

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A new House of Blues Club venue will open in Seattle, Washington, following a preliminary deal between the entertainment giant and the Seattle Theatre. The agreement calls for a new club to be developed adjacent to the historic Paramount Theatre in downtown Seattle, according to Billboard.

The venue and restaurant, located inside the Paramount Tower, is slated to open in 2007 after a period of renovation that will bring major improvements to the landmark structure. The venue will hold a House of Blues restaurant, classic HOB décor, a special events space and the membership-only Foundation Room.

The planning, design and due diligence process is underway, and a definitive agreement is expected by early this summer, at which time the two organizations will present detailed plans publicly.

HOB has always been very active throughout the region, promoting more than 200 shows annually in the Pacific Northwest. HOB also operates the 22,000-capacity Gorge Amphitheater. Senior VP Jeff Trisler oversees HOB’s talent buying in the region.

Greg Trojan, HOB CEO told Billboard that the company will continue to expand it’s operations and reach. “Our preference is to look at markets where we can establish a base, where we have a core building or set of buildings,” he said. “We’re not likely to go to [markets] where we don’t have a building and just go out there and start promoting shows. We want to know we have an ability to control some real estate as a base and some venues that give us a core to build from, and we’ll definitely be expanding on the venue side of our business.” –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
