LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) As celebrities – if not the viewing public these days – prepare for tonight’s Emmy Awards, the show has already seen a day’s worth of press with Les Moonves’s disinvite and some kind of scuffle involving Tom Arnold and “The Apprentice” producer Mark Burnett.

Moonves, after helming CBS for decades and guiding 18 television programs up for nominations tonight, won’t be at the awards show, according to TMZ. Sources told the website that CBS made a decision to not extend an invitation to him in the wake of the sexual misconduct scandal. The Tiffany Network has a limited amount of tickets and they’re going elsewhere.

It likely doesn’t matter, considering Moonves hasn’t attended the event in years. Moonves played a hand in nominees “The Amazing Race,” “The Big Bang Theory,” “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” and “Bruno Mars: Live 24K Magic at the Apollo,” among other programming.

Meanwhile, something happened last night at a pre-show party involving Tom Arnold and Mark Burnett. Arnold believes there is a tape out there somewhere in the ether of President Donald Trump saying bad stuff about African Americans and that Burnett, as the producer of “The Apprentice,” has it. They were both in the same room and, according to Arnold, “Mark Burnett just went apeshit & choked me at this huge Emmy party then he ran away with his torn pink shirt & missing gold chain. I’m waiting for LAPD,” according to a tweet.

Burnett’s wife, Roma Downey, disagreed, saying Arnold “tried to ambush” her and her husband and said Arnold hurt her hand. She posted a photo of the bruise.

“Bullshit,” Arnold fired back. “You lie your crazy husband attacked me you psycho. I’m filing a police report & suing you for defamation.”

Arnold then posted photos of him hanging out with Patton Oswalt and Billy Eichner, the latter posting, “Everyone in LA is shaken. Hold your loved ones tight.”

The comedian is working on a show for Vice where he plans to unearth the outtakes from “The Apprentice” that will have the smoking gun he is looking for. Hopefully the show won’t have any dead air.
