CALDWELL, NJ (CelebrityAccess) — George Joseph Kresge Jr., the mentalist, performer, and television personality better known by his stage name, the Amazing Kreskin, has died. He was 89.

New of his passing was shared by his family on his social media channels: It comes with heavy heart that we announce the passing of The Amazing Kreskin. Known as George Kresge Born January 12, 1935. The Amazing Kreskin would Have turned 90 years old next month. Kreskin got his name from combining his name with Harry Kellar a famous magician and Houdini. The name was Kreskin was born.

According to the New York Times, Kreskin died at a care facility in Wayne, New Jersey, on December 10th after a battle with dementia.

Born in Montclair, New Jersey, to Polish and Sicilian parent in 1935, Kreskin made his television debut in 1964 on the Steve Allen Show before becoming a fixture on both daytime and late-night television, making more than dozens of appearances each on shows such as The Merv Griffin Show, Live with Regis and Kathy Lee, and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.

From 1972 to 1975, Kreskin hosted his own television show The Amazing World of Kreskin, which was broadcast on Canadian television and syndicated in the United States.

In addition to his television cachet, Kreskin frequently toured and performed live, claiming to have performed more than 25,000 shows over the course of his career.

Kreskin remained active late in life and continued to perform until the spring of 2024, including regular appearances on New York’s WPIX, as well as on cable networks such as Fox News and CNN where he would provide New Year’s predictions.
