JAMAICA, QUEENS (CelebrityAccess) – A mass shooting outside the Amazura Concert Hall in Jamaica, Queens, on New Year’s Day left 10 people injured. The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. when four men fired over 30 shots into a crowd of approximately 15 individuals waiting to enter the venue. The victims, aged 16 to 20, were transported to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
The gathering was a memorial for 16-year-old Taearion Mungo, who was fatally shot in Brooklyn in October 2024. The suspects fled the scene in a light-colored sedan with out-of-state plates. Authorities are investigating potential gang involvement, as Mungo was reportedly linked to the FNO gang.
NYPD Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera condemned the violence, stating, “There is zero tolerance for these senseless shootings, these acts of violence. Those responsible will be brought to justice.”
The Amazura Concert Hall has expressed its condolences and is cooperating with law enforcement to assist in the investigation.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
