REYKJAVIK, Iceland (CelebrityAccess) — The week after Icelandic artist Bjork revealed that she was working on a new album, "Vulnicura" the entire thing was leaked on the Internet, leading Bjork to release the effort three months ahead of schedule.
And it seems to have paid off. According to Billboard, the album debuted at No. 5 on Alternative Albums and No. 6 on Top Rock Albums.
The album also appeared to be a strong seller for Bjork and in the first week, it notched up 23,000 sales, according to Nielsen, ahead of her last album, 2011's Biophilia, which moved 15,000 units in its first week of sales.
Bjork is slated to perform material from her new album in a series of concerts in New York City this spring. – Staff Writers
