MIAMI, FL (CelebrityAccess) — The death earlier this week of Butch Trucks, founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, appears to have been a suicide, according to police records.
In a story first reported by the Miami Herald, police records indicate that Trucks, 69, shot himself with a pistol in front of his wife in their downtown West Palm Beach condo.
A transcript of the 911 call made to West Palm Beach Police about 6:00 p.m. Tuesday shows that a woman caller told the dispatcher that her “husband just shot himself,” the Herald reported
The caller also identified the weapon in question as a pistol and told the dispatcher that she had witnessed the shooting, the Miami Herald said.
Police have declined to comment on the incident, which was still under investigation but said they do not suspect foul play. – Staff Writers
