City To Take Over Operation Of Fargodome

FARGO, ND (CelebrityAccess) — The City of Fargo has agreed to end its management contract for the Fargodome with Spectra by Comcast Spectacor and assume management of the venue effective Jan. 1st.

The City Commission's decision to end the contract was based on the recommendation of the Fargo Dome Authority, who will oversee the venue going forward.

David Suppes, a member of the authority's board, told The Grand Forks Herald that the decision to end their contract with Spectra, formerly Global Spectrum, did not reflect Spectra's performance. All of the company's staff at the Fargodome, including longtime General Manager Rob Sobolik, will now work for the city instead. The dome authority will also solicit bids from Spectra to continue providing concession services at the Fargodome.

As well, Spectra will continue providing ticketing services for the venue.

Spectra has operated the Fargodome since 2003 after the city's contract with Aramark expired. – Staff Writers
