LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Lawyers for Kesha's longtime producer have asked a judge to drop allegations that he sexually assaulted pop singer Kesha from a civil lawsuit.
According to the Associated Press, attorneys for Lukasz Gottwald, also known as Doctor Luke, argued that the statute of limitations preclude the rape allegations in Kesha's lawsuit against Gottwald.
Kesha, also known as Kesha Rose Sebert, sued Gottwald last month, alleging that he had inflicted a decade of emotional and sexual abuse on her, but she did not state when the rape occurred. Gottwald's attorneys contend the allegation should be thrown out from the case because it could not have occurred within the past two years.
Gottwald's attorneys are also seeking to have charges of gender violence dismissed, citing a three year statute of limitations for those charges. Gottswald still faces a litany of allegations in the suit, including sexual harassment, civil harassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Gottwald has denied the allegations of rape and his lawyers characterized Kesha's lawsuit as an attempt to garner a better contract. – Staff Writers
