Freddie Scott Dies At 74

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — R&B singer and songwriter Freddie Scott has died at his home in Jamaica, Queens on June 4th, apparently from heart disease. He was 74.

The singer, known for his song "Hey, Girl" along with "Are You Lonely for Me?" and "Am I Grooving You?"

Although Scott's star waned somewhat in the 1980s, he still toured and performed regularly, releasing a pair of new albums in 2001 and 2004.

"If you listen to his delivery and his soulfulness and his expressiveness, he was really a dynamic singer," noted John Martelli, Scott's partner in MPI Productions "He just never got the recognition he deserved." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
