(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Michael Eavis, founder of the hugely successful Glastonbury festival, will be receiving an honorary Master of Arts degree from the University of Bristol.
Eavis first began holding the festival from his farm at Glastonbury in 1970, attracting 15,000 fans.
It is now the largest open-field music and performing arts festival in the world, attracting 150,000 people last year. The event is taking this year off, but will return in 2007.
This is not Eavis’ first academic honor, however. The festival chief was made a Doctor of the Arts by Bath University in December 2004. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
